Caleb Grandoit
Caleb Grandoit is an actor, published writer and teaching artist. He received a Bachelor of Arts from The City University of New York College of Staten Island, majoring in African and African Diaspora Studies. As a teaching artist, Caleb works with one of New York City’s leading nonprofit arts organizations, Opening Act, a free, year-long, After School Theater Program for students attending New York City’s most under-served public schools. As a longtime member of the Opening Act team, he works with middle school students and the young people of New York City’s Alternative School District, D79, facilitating workshops on improvisation, acting technique, and writing exercises to help kids and teens unleash their creativity, and develop leadership and problem-solving skills. He also works with Drama Club. Drama Club is a nonprofit that brings theater and improv to young people impacted by the juvenile justice system. They run programs at Rikers Island, Horizon, and Crossroads juvenile detention centers, as well as alternative-to-detention and post incarceration programs.
Caleb has written, directed, produced, edited, and starred in many of his own projects highlighting social justice issues. His poem MisUnderstood is featured in the book,“Now That We’re Men: A Play and True Life Accounts of Boys, Sex, & Power,” published by Dottir Press. His writing credits also include collaborating on the development of the original plays Intersections and Security Strike, both directed by Kamilah Forbes and performed at New World Stages. He released his first short film Only Seen As Three in January 2020. The film won the Audience Choice award at the 2020 College of Staten Island Film Festival. In 2022, his next film Gentle Boy afforded him multiple Best Director nominations including winning Best Director at the 2023 Brightside Film Festival. In 2025 he won Best Director at the 2025 Brightside Film Festival for Lessons.
Caleb made his TV acting debut starring as Ronald Toussiant in the acclaimed Netflix original series Grand Army, created by Katie Cappiello. Rolling Stone Magazine named Grand Army “One of the Top 20 Shows of 2020!” On stage, Caleb originated the role of Marcus in Now That Men We’re Men by Katie Cappiello (Steppenwolf Theater, Dixon Place, The Maroney Theater) and toured with the play to high schools and colleges across the country, engaging students in talkbacks and workshops around the issues of gender expectations and healthy sexuality. He also performed as Donnie in Exit Strategy, directed by Kenny Leon (New World Stages).
Remington Allen
Remington Allen is an actor, writer, director, and filmmaker whose work spans a wide range of creative disciplines and storytelling forms. A proud graduate of Morehouse College and a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Remington brings both academic insight and lived experience to his craft.
Though his formal study of the arts deepened after college, his journey as a student of the craft began much earlier in high school where he was exposed to improv acting through the Non-profit organized Opening Act. His early exposure to performance and storytelling ignited a lasting passion. Whether in front of the camera or behind it, Remington approaches every project with a deep respect for the art form and a commitment to authentic, impactful storytelling. Remington is currently developing a number of projects in various capacities, and he continues to explore and expand his creative voice across many mediums.
Jacob Matthews
Jacob Matthews is a director, writer and actor. He wrote and starred in his first short film Gentle Boy in 2022. He and his film were nominated for best actor and best short film respectively at the Brightside Film Festival. He has since written and starred in his second short film Lessons. It premiered at the 2025 Brightside Film receiving multiple nominations including best director nominations and two more for best actor. He directed his first film Everything in 2024, set to go in festivals 2026.
